With reference to your letter No.F.2214/43/10 of the 15th of May, I am directed by Mr. Secretary Amery to transmit to you, to be laidbefore Secretary Sir Austen Chamberlain, the accompanying copy of a note from the Colonial Secretary, Hong Kong, enclosing a copy of a despatch which has been addressed to the General Officer Commanding the Troops, South China Command, by the Governor of Hong Kong, on the subject of anti-piracy
measures in Bias Bay, together with a copy of a despatch from the Officer Administering the Government relative to the piracy of the 3.5. "Tean".
2. Since the date of this correspondence however,
it is understood that the Canton Government have taken
punitive action against the pirates in Pias Pay and
